Victoria Vets – Aberdare. Air Conditioning & Ventilation installation

New Veterinary Practice in Aberdare, the second Practice opened by the The Victoria Veterinary Group, the other practice is in Merthyr Tydfil. They are a community-minded, private small animal veterinary practice treating a variety of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats and hamsters and they aim is to provide top quality veterinary care at fair and reasonable prices.

The new practice was opened within a warehouse unit and was a totally new build inside the warehouse unit, there is no mains gas on site so the air conditioning was installed to provide all the heating and cooling for the practice. We installed Mitsubishi Electric 4-Way blow concealed ceiling cassettes in large main areas and wall mounted units in smaller consultation rooms. The Mitsubishi Electric units are very economical to run with an A++ Energy Efficiency rating in cooling/heating for the lowest possible running costs, they are very quiet and will provide all the heating and cooling requirements throughout the year.

To meet building regulations and provide a comfortable working environment for the staff and animals we installed two Mitsubishi Lossnay MVHR (Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery) units to provide the ventilation in every room of the practice. When MVHR units are installed to provide the ventilation they reduce overall energy costs by extracting stale air from the building and then recovering the heating or cooling energy from this air to either warm or cool the incoming 100% fresh air into the building. The heat exchange unit recovers up to 80% of the energy lost through ventilation and maintains a comfortable and clean indoor environment without changes in room temperature.

By utilising this normally wasted energy, the heat recovery system can save up to 30% on initial capital costs of heating and cooling a building throughout the year.
